CodeFix Home is an independent troubleshooting site for people in the United States whose washer, dryer, dishwasher, refrigerator or range suddenly shows an error code or stops working properly. Our goal is simple: help you understand what the code means, try the safe checks that make sense, and recognize the moment to stop and call a qualified technician.
What makes our guides different
- Official sources first. Code meanings come from the manufacturer’s own documentation — owner’s manuals, installation instructions and official support pages — and every guide links to those sources so you can check them yourself.
- Brands compared side by side. The same problem, such as a blocked dryer vent or a washer that won’t drain, shows up with different codes on LG, Samsung, Whirlpool and other brands. We put them in one place and point out where manufacturers disagree.
- Safety stop-points. Every guide says clearly when to stop. We don’t publish instructions for gas lines, refrigerant, live electrical testing or other work that requires a licensed professional.
- No parts-selling bias. We are not a parts store or a repair service. If a part is likely involved, we say so without pushing a purchase.
Who is behind CodeFix Home
CodeFix Home is a small independent publication operated from Spain. Guides are published under the byline CodeFix Home Editorial. We want to be clear about what that means:
- Guides are researched and drafted with the help of AI tools.
- Every code meaning, specification and procedure is checked against the manufacturer or safety-agency pages cited in the guide, and the date of that check is shown at the top of each guide.
- Each guide is reviewed by the site’s editor before publication.
- We are not appliance technicians, and our guides are not reviewed by licensed technicians. If that changes, we will name the reviewer and their qualifications on the guide.
